Current Training

This blog is still on! I have been focusing for IM Hawaii since July. My training has changed a little since the last time I trained for another IM. To be honest, I am fed up of cycling! I cannot stand cycling for more than 4 hours. This is what I explained to my personal trainer.

I just want to enjoy my day in Kona. I know that long rides are needed to be successful in an Ironman. So I will try to do my best. I promise.

On the other hand, the swimming is kind of scary for me. I am not a good swimmer at all (my PB in IM New Zealand was 1:09h -and I had a very GOOD day-), and I prefer being in a lake than in the ocean. Anyway, this is why I have been trying to swim as much as I can in the sea. Here we have the Mediterranean sea which is more similar to a lake than a sea. However, I have already done a couple of swimming crossings (without wetsuit). I have also spent a holiday week near the coast, and I have been swimming in the sea almost every day, from 20 minutes to 1 hour. It did not matter the weather forecast, I had to swim there and I did it.

Now I am training between 15 and 20 hours. I am swimming 4/5 days per week (around 10000 meters). I have rides 3 times per week (the longest one has taken less than 5 hours), and I am running 4 times per week (the longest one has been 1:20h). And.... I am tired. I hope to be able to cope with this training until October.

On the 2nd of September, I am going to take part in the Ironman Monaco. www.monaco-ironman.com

Hope to have another good day! :)
